Maintenance, diagnostics & repairs

A warning light, unusual sound, fluid leak or starting problem can have several causes. We investigate the complaint, find the likely source and explain the repair options based on what we find.

When you contact us, include the make, model, year, engine details if known, and a description of the symptoms. It helps us plan the right inspection.

01 / 06

Diagnostics & fault finding

  • Reading and interpreting diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs)
  • Investigating dashboard warning lights
  • Checking live data and sensor readings
  • Misfires, rough idle, hesitation and loss of power
  • Starting and running complaints
  • Transmission and drivetrain symptoms
  • Written findings and repair recommendations

NoteA trouble code does not always mean the named component must be replaced. Further testing may be needed to find the actual cause.

02 / 06

Preventive maintenance

  • Engine oil and filter replacement
  • Air and cabin filter replacement
  • Spark plugs where applicable
  • Fluid level and condition checks
  • Leak, belt and hose inspection
  • General condition checks and service advice

NoteThe right procedure and interval depend on the vehicle, engine, operating conditions and manufacturer specifications.

03 / 06

Engine & mechanical repairs

  • Performance and drivability complaints
  • Oil and coolant leaks
  • Abnormal engine noises
  • Intake and vacuum leaks
  • Timing, valve train and cylinder head work
  • Other mechanical repairs after inspection

NoteMajor repairs may need additional testing, parts research or a separate estimate before work begins.

04 / 06

Brakes, steering & suspension

  • Brake pads, discs and calipers
  • Brake noise, vibration and fluid leaks
  • Knocking or clunking noises
  • Unstable handling, steering vibration or play
  • Uneven tyre wear
  • Worn steering and suspension parts

NoteWe look at the condition of the complete braking system before recommending parts.

05 / 06

Automotive electrical repairs

  • No-start or intermittent starting
  • Battery and charging system faults
  • Starter motor and alternator faults
  • Fuses, wiring, connectors and grounds
  • Sensor and actuator circuits
  • Electrical warning lights and intermittent faults

NoteThe scope of testing depends on the vehicle, the fault and access to the affected system.

06 / 06

Cooling, fuel & engine management

  • Coolant leaks and overheating complaints
  • Cooling fans and related controls
  • Hard starting and poor running
  • Fuel delivery and fuel-related codes
  • Injector testing and cleaning
  • Engine management warning lights

NoteIf your engine overheats, stop driving when it is safe to do so, and never open a hot pressurised cooling system.

Inspections & repair planning

  • Assessing a reported fault or warning light
  • Identifying visible damage or wear
  • Documenting findings and recommendations
  • Preparing a repair estimate where possible
  • Identifying and ordering suitable OEM or aftermarket parts

An inspection is limited to the agreed scope and is not an official roadworthiness certification.
